31 March 2022

Specialist investment management firm Bordier UK bagged a brace of awards at the 2022 WealthBriefing European Awards last evening – the tenth anniversary of the prestigious awards programme – placing the firm amongst the global elite.

Presented at a glittering gala dinner at the Sheraton Grand Hotel on London’s Park Lane, the highly sought-after Awards recognise the most important contributions made in the world of wealth management over the course of the previous year. Winning a WealthBriefing Award sets organisations and individuals apart from their peers, the organiser viewing its Awards as a ‘tangible demonstration that the winners have something special to offer, rewarding achievement and showcasing top class performance and innovation.’

Part of a vanguard movement, consistently raising the bar ever higher in the world of wealth management, the St James’s based firm was crowned ‘Specialist Investment Manager (with assets over £5 billion) and received the accolade for the best ‘Discretionary Fund Management (DFM) Offering’ too. Bordier UK was the winner of the ‘Specialist Wealth Manager’ category in 2019, 2020 and 2021.

The WealthBriefing Awards are recognised industry-wide for the independence of their judging process, and the judges steeped the highest praise upon Bordier UK this year.

Specialist Investment Manager with Assets Under Management over £5 billion

“The judges were particularly impressed with how Bordier has delivered long-term and consistent performance for its clients. Furthermore, judges commended the winner for its modular approach to investment management.”

Discretionary Fund Management (‘DFM’) Offering

“In the category for best ‘Discretionary Fund Management Offering’, Bordier stood out for its quality proposition and long track record. A very worthy winner.”

Winning awards is particularly important in these challenging times as it gives clients reassurance in the solidity and sustainability of the winner’s business and operating model, and for Jamie MacLeod, CEO at Bordier UK, 2022 is already turning out to be an exciting year for the firm and its clients, and the Awards recognise the achievements of colleagues right across the firm.

He said, “We recently teamed up with the pioneering SolarStratos ‘To the edge of space’ expedition, promoting a renewable energy source as a viable alternative to fossil fuels, as part of our commitment to protecting the planet. The goal is to demonstrate the huge potential of solar energy by sending a manned, solar-powered aircraft into the stratosphere for the first time in history. Although this may be new, we have as a firm been committed to safeguarding and growing the wealth and assets entrusted to us, and to passing these on to future generations, for more than 175 years. This ethos of sustainability is integrated in all aspects of our business, and we recognise that protecting the planet is an integral part of building a better tomorrow – so it is fitting that the judges have recognised us as Specialist Investment Manager for delivering long-term and consistent performance for our clients.”

“Being recognised as having the best ‘Discretionary Fund Management (‘DFM’) Offering’ is of course the icing on the cake. We continue to expand our range of investment services for advisers and their clients.”

ClearView Financial Media’s CEO, and Publisher of WealthBriefing, Stephen Harris, was first to extend his congratulations. He said: “The organisations and individuals who triumphed in these Awards are all worthy winners, and I would like to extend my heartiest congratulations to the winners and to those who have put so much work into each winning submission.

“These Awards were independently and expertly judged solely on the basis of entrants’ submissions and their response to a number of specific questions, which were answered by focusing on the client experience rather than purely quantitative performance metrics. That is a unique, and I believe, compelling feature. These Awards recognise the very best operators in European wealth management, with ‘independence’, ‘integrity’ and ‘genuine insight’ the watchwords of the judging process – such that the awards truly reflect excellence in European wealth management.”
